Affected Hinton hospital patients contacted
Alberta Health Services (AHS) officials have contacted 161 Edson and Hinton area residents who underwent endoscopy procedures at the Hinton Healthcare Centre between May 1 and Sept. 15, and may have been exposed to potentially contaminated medication.. In a written statement AHS said during some endoscopy procedures syringes used to withdraw medication from multiple-dose vials were re-used to withdraw more medication from the vial for the same patient. New needles and new syringes were used for each patient.
