The pipe dream of Knicks¡¯ fans officially went down the tube at approximately 9:25 p.m. when, after a decade of suffering and two years of waiting, they heard LeBron James utter the phrase that will likely change the course of NBA history: ¡°This fall, I am going to take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat.¡±
The decision puts three of the top 15 players in basketball, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and James, together for what might be the most talented trio in NBA history.
The reason James gave for his decision was a simple one: he feels the roster that the Heat currently has in place will give him the opportunity to not only win now, but to continue winning for years to come. Although his reasoning is understandable, the way he went about making the decision will banish him to villain status and taint his legacy forever for several reasons.
